TRU-Hasbro-Game-Deals.jpg

UPDATE: The $10 gift card is for purchase of $35 of Hasbro games, and most of the games listed aren’t Hasbro, but they’re Milton Bradley. Although Milton Bradley is a division of Hasbro, the Milton Bradley games don’t qualify as Hasbro games and therefore do not qualify for the gift card. Of the games listed, the only ones that are Hasbro–and eligible toward the gift card–are Candyland, Chutes-n-Ladders, Monopoly and Scabble. So, without the $10 gift card, scenerio #2 works out to $2.50 per game, and scenario #1 works out to $2.67 per game, assuming they count the FREE Chocolate game as part of the $35+ purchase. (Thanks so much, Dawna!)

You can score some cheap board games at Toys R Us! Here are a few deal scenarios.

If you can find the chocolate games:
Buy Battleship or Operation, $10.99
Buy Chocolate Monopoly or Scrabble Game, $9.99 (FREE with purchase above)
Buy Chutes & Ladders, $3
Buy Candy Land, $3
Buy Ants in the Pants, $5
Buy Don’t Break the Ice, $5
Total: $36.98
Get a $9.99 discount for the Chocolate Monopoly or Scrabble game
Pay $26.99 + tax
Get back a $10 Toys R Us gift card for purchasing $35 worth of games
Submit for $11 worth of mail-in rebates
Final cost: $5.99 all 6 ($1 each)
If you can’t find the chocolate games:
Buy Chutes & Ladders, $3
Buy Candy Land, $3
Buy Ants in the Pants, $5
Buy Don’t Break the Ice, $5
Buy Don’t Spill the Beans, $5
Buy Cootie, $5
Buy Memory, $5
Buy Hi Ho Cherry-O, $5
Pay $36 + tax
Get back a $10 Toys R Us gift card for spending $35
Submit for $16 worth of mail-in rebates
Final cost: $1.25 per game

I went to Toys R Us earlier today to cash in on this deal. However, the deal scenerio is not as good as presented. The $10 gift card is for purchase of $35 of HASBRO games and most of the games listed are not HASBRO – rather they are Milton Bradley. Although MB is a division of Hasbro, the MB games do not qualify as Hasbro games and therefore do not qualify for the gift card. Of the games listed, the only ones that are Hasbro – and eligible toward gift card – are Candyland, Chutes-n-Ladders, Monopoly and Scabble. So, without the $10 gift card, Scenerio #2 works out to $2.50 per game – still a pretty good deal. Scenerio #1 works out to $2.67 per game, assuming they count the FREE Chocolate game as part of the $35+ purchase – not sure they will – might have to buy another $10 worth of games.
